CA handoff

Export audit-ready books for Excel, Tally, and your CA

Many owners capture sales in chat threads or spreadsheets during the day, then scramble when their accountant asks for usable records. Accountio is the bridge: capture transactions as you work, keep organized books with proof behind the numbers, and export Excel, Tally, or PDF when your CA is ready to review.

The problem

Your CA needs structured records — not scattered chats

Export is the handoff stage, not the starting point.

During the week, transactions happen in WhatsApp threads, voice notes, and mental notes. At month-end or audit season, your chartered accountant needs columns, totals, and traceability — not a folder of screenshots.

Structured exports reduce rework for both sides. You maintain books in Accountio as you go; when your CA asks, you download the format they prefer instead of rebuilding the month from memory.

Formats

What Accountio can export

Excel, Tally, and PDF — the formats named in product copy and homepage features.

  • Excel

Spreadsheet exports your CA can open immediately — familiar columns and totals without rebuilding from chat screenshots.

  • Tally

Tally-format export for accountant review. This is a handoff file — not live Tally integration or company migration.

  • PDF

PDF statements for review and sharing. Plan limits apply — see pricing for Personal vs Pro PDF allowances.

Homepage product copy says: "Need Excel, Tally, or a PDF for your CA? Pick a format and export." The comparison table also lists audit-ready export to Excel and Tally. Additional format labels may appear in the product UI; this page focuses on the three formats consistently named across marketing copy.

Source context

"Sold 12 units to Ali — 8,400 cash"WhatsApp
Entries can link back to what you sent. Your records are saved safely, and changes are logged — so review can start with the original source, not a mystery number.

Proof

Proof travels with the numbers

Audit trail as a differentiator — not automatic legal certification.

Every sale or expense can link back to the message or voice note you sent — so you and your CA can trust the books. Tap a line and see the original source before you export.

That traceability helps handoff. It does not mean exports are legally certified or automatically audit-compliant — your CA still applies professional judgment.

Workflow

Typical export workflow

  1. Step 1

    Record transactions in Accountio

Capture sales and expenses as you work — often through WhatsApp chat or voice notes on supported plans.

  2. Step 2

    Keep proof with each entry

Source messages or voice notes can stay linked to the line in your books so review starts with context.

  3. Step 3

    Export when your CA asks

Pick Excel, Tally, or PDF when it is time to hand off structured records.

  4. Step 4

    Your accountant reviews

Your CA applies professional judgment on the exported files. Accountio does not submit returns or replace a licensed accountant.

Transparency

What this page is not

Export and handoff — not migration, sync, or tax filing.

  • Bulk import or migration from existing Excel ledgers
  • Tally data migration or live Tally synchronization
  • Tax filing, FBR returns, or GST submission
  • A replacement for your chartered accountant or tax advisor
  • Guaranteed legal audit compliance from exports alone

Upload what you already have — no subscription required.

Not ready to change capture habits yet? Upload your existing books — spreadsheet, export, or PDF — to the free auditor for a quick sanity check. Capture first

Exports are the handoff — capture happens earlier

Export only works well if books were maintained along the way. Accountio's capture stage is often bookkeeping on WhatsApp — send a sale from chat, attach proof, and let structured records build before your CA asks for Excel or Tally files.

FAQ

Excel, Tally, and export questions

Can I export my books to Excel?

Yes. When your accountant asks, pick a format and export. Excel is supported in the product alongside other handoff formats. Accountio helps you maintain structured books first — export is the step where your CA receives usable files.

Can I export records for Tally?

Yes. You can export in Tally format for your chartered accountant to review. This is an export handoff — Accountio does not replace Tally as accounting software, does not migrate your Tally company, and does not offer live Tally synchronization.

Can I send PDF statements to my CA?

Yes. PDF export is supported. Personal includes 2 PDF statements per month; Pro includes 10 PDF statements per month — see the pricing page for current plan limits.

Does Accountio import my old Tally data?

No. There is no public product evidence for bulk import or migration from an existing Tally company. Accountio is for capturing transactions and exporting structured records — not for migrating legacy Tally data.

Does Accountio migrate an existing Excel ledger?

No. Accountio does not advertise bulk import or migration from existing Excel ledgers. You can use the free auditor tool to sanity-check an existing spreadsheet export before you change how you capture day-to-day transactions.

Can I check my current Excel books before signing up?

Yes. Upload your existing books — spreadsheet, export, or PDF — to the free auditor at auditor.accountio.ai for a quick sanity check. No Accountio subscription is required. It is a practical review tool, not tax filing or a certified legal audit.

Does the export include proof/source information?

Accountio is built so entries can link back to the message, voice note, or input you sent. That source context stays with your books before you export. Exports hand structured records to your CA — they do not automatically guarantee legal audit compliance.

Is Accountio a tax filing or FBR service?

No. Accountio is a conversational bookkeeping assistant — it helps you record and organize business transactions and export for review. It does not file tax returns, submit FBR returns, or provide GST filing services. Review AI-generated output before relying on it for tax or regulatory decisions, as described in our Terms & Conditions.
